My Story

Neal Prasad's Story, in His Own Words

Like most people, my journey has been filled with successes, setbacks, lessons and experiences that have shaped the person I am today. This is my story.

Chapter 1

Where It All Started

I was born in Tuskegee, Alabama, in 1970, to Murli and Darshan Prasad.

My father, Murli Prasad, dedicated his professional career to public service as an administrator with the United States Department of Agriculture. My mother, Darshan Prasad, worked as an emergency room nurse, dedicating her career to helping people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Both of my parents instilled in me the importance of hard work, discipline, personal responsibility, and treating people with respect.

My mother passed away on July 28, 2022, and my father on May 21, 2024.

Their passing reminded me that while business accomplishments may come and go, the values we inherit and the memories we create with those we love remain with us forever.

I will always be grateful for the foundation they provided.

Chapter 2

Growing Up in Brick Township, New Jersey

Although I was born in Alabama, I grew up in Brick Township, New Jersey.

Growing up at the Jersey Shore helped shape my personality, work ethic, and appreciation for community.

I attended Brick Township High School, where football became an important part of my younger years. Football taught me valuable lessons about teamwork, discipline, competition, accountability, and perseverance.

Those lessons would eventually become important throughout my military service and business career.

Like many young men, I wasn't entirely sure what direction my life would take after high school. However, I knew I wanted to challenge myself, become independent, and do something meaningful.

That decision led me to the United States Marine Corps.

Chapter 3

The United States Marine Corps

In 1989, shortly after graduating from high school, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.

I completed recruit training at Parris Island, South Carolina, where I distinguished myself during training and earned recognition, graduating as a Private First Class.

My military training and assignments included Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, California.

My military experiences included deployments and service connected with Beirut, Panama, and Operation Desert Storm.

Serving in the Marine Corps was one of the most defining experiences of my life.

The Marines taught me that leadership is not about telling people what to do. It's about setting an example, accepting responsibility, and being willing to do the difficult things you ask of others.

The values of honor, courage, and commitment have stayed with me throughout my life.

I am extremely proud to have served my country and to have received an honorable discharge.

Once a Marine, always a Marine.

Chapter 4

Coming Home and Building a Life

After leaving the Marine Corps, I returned to civilian life with the same determination and ambition that had motivated me to enlist.

Like many veterans, I discovered that transitioning from military service into the business world required a different kind of discipline.

I wasn't afraid of hard work, long hours, or taking calculated risks. I wanted to build something of my own.

I also learned early that success doesn't happen overnight. It requires sacrifice, perseverance, and the willingness to learn from mistakes.

Over the years, I've experienced both the rewards and the challenges of entrepreneurship. And I wouldn't trade those experiences because each one taught me something valuable.

Chapter 5

My Entrepreneurial Journey

My business career began with opportunities in real estate, including purchasing, renovating, and selling residential properties.

What started with real estate investments eventually expanded into building custom homes and speculative residential construction.

I enjoyed the process of identifying opportunities, assembling teams, managing projects, and ultimately creating something tangible.

By the age of 32, I had built and sold my first company.

That experience reinforced my belief that entrepreneurship is not simply about having a good idea. It's about execution, surrounding yourself with capable people, managing finances responsibly, and adapting when circumstances change.

Throughout my career, I've been involved in numerous business ventures, including real estate development, franchising, consumer businesses, and the home services industry.

One chapter included my involvement with Cold Stone Creamery, where I gained valuable experience in franchise operations, business development, and regional management in the Northeast.

Over time, I developed a particular interest in sales, operations, business growth, and helping organizations improve their performance.

Not every business venture has been successful. I've experienced setbacks, difficult partnerships, financial challenges, and situations where things didn't work out as planned.

But I've never believed that a setback defines a person. What matters is how you respond, what you learn, and whether you're willing to get back up and try again.

Chapter 6

LOAFR: Premier Footwear

Another important chapter in my entrepreneurial journey involved LOAFR Premier Footwear.

As CEO, I became involved in developing a consumer-focused footwear business built around product identity, brand recognition, and customer experience.

Building a brand presents an entirely different set of challenges from operating a service business or developing real estate. It requires creativity, market awareness, strategic planning, and the ability to understand what motivates consumers.

The experience broadened my perspective on entrepreneurship and reinforced the importance of branding, marketing, and customer relationships.

Regardless of the industry, I've always believed that successful businesses share certain fundamentals: strong leadership, financial discipline, quality products or services, and a commitment to the customer.

Chapter 7

My Family

With Kimberly and our five children

Of everything I've accomplished or attempted throughout my life, nothing is more important to me than my family.

I've been married to my wife, Kimberly, since 2002. Together, we have five wonderful children.

Raising five children while navigating the demands of business ownership has certainly been an adventure. There have been long workdays, missed opportunities, difficult decisions, and sacrifices along the way.

But being a husband and father has given my life a purpose that no business accomplishment could ever replace.

I'm incredibly proud of my children and the individuals they're becoming. Watching them grow, graduate, pursue their interests, and develop their own identities has been one of the greatest rewards of my life.

My family has also helped keep me grounded. Business can consume a tremendous amount of time and energy, but at the end of the day, success means very little if you don't have people you love to share it with.

Chapter 8

Life in Pine Beach, New Jersey

My family and I have called Pine Beach, New Jersey, home since 2005.

I have a tremendous appreciation for the Jersey Shore and the communities throughout Ocean County. There's something special about living in an area where people develop lasting relationships, support local businesses, and take pride in their neighborhoods.

Having grown up in Brick Township and later raising my family in Pine Beach, I've spent much of my life in this region. New Jersey is home.

I believe strongly in supporting the communities where we live and work, and I recognize the importance of local businesses in creating jobs and strengthening the local economy.

Chapter 9

The Things I Enjoy

Outside of business, I enjoy spending time with my family, following sports, and appreciating the lifestyle that comes with living near the Jersey Shore.

I've always enjoyed meeting people, exchanging ideas, and learning about different industries and opportunities. I'm naturally curious and have never been someone who enjoys sitting still for very long.

Whether it's exploring a new business concept, helping someone solve a problem, or simply having a conversation with an interesting person, I enjoy staying engaged.

As I've gotten older, I've also developed a greater appreciation for the simple things in life. Time with family, good friendships, meaningful conversations, and good health are things that become increasingly important with age.

Chapter 10

Giving Back and Helping Others

I've always believed that those who have the ability to help others should make an effort to do so.

My experiences in the Marine Corps, business, and everyday life have introduced me to people from many different backgrounds. I've met individuals who have achieved extraordinary success and others who have faced tremendous adversity.

Those experiences have reinforced my belief that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

I have a particular appreciation for military veterans, first responders, working families, and individuals who dedicate their lives to serving others.

I also believe in mentoring and sharing experiences with people who are interested in entrepreneurship. If something I've learned through my successes or mistakes can help another person make a better decision, I consider that worthwhile.

Chapter 11

The Bottom Line

If you've taken the time to read this far, thank you.

I don't pretend to have all the answers, and I certainly don't claim to have lived a perfect life.

I've made mistakes. I've trusted people I probably shouldn't have. I've taken risks that didn't work out. And I've experienced disappointments both personally and professionally.

But I've also had the privilege of serving my country, building businesses, creating opportunities, raising a family, and meeting some extraordinary people along the way.

At 56 years old, I still have the same entrepreneurial spirit and determination that motivated me as a young man. I believe there are always new opportunities to learn, grow, and make a positive difference.

I believe your word should mean something. I believe in working hard, treating people fairly, accepting responsibility, and standing up for what you believe is right.

Most importantly, I believe that your character is ultimately defined not by what you say about yourself, but by how you conduct yourself and how you treat others.

I'm a husband, a father of five, a United States Marine Corps veteran, and an entrepreneur. I've had successes, I've had failures, and I've learned from both.

And I'm still writing the next chapter.

Thank you again for taking the time to get to know me.
